ABOUT
Anni Tolvanen is a composer, sound designer and creative producer from Helsinki, Finland. She performs with and composes for a variety of instruments and ensembles, and gets her stylist inspiration from contemporary world music, film and video game scores, and the golden decades of jazz.
From traditions and folklore to urban soundscapes, Tolvanen explores the diversity of musical interaction in different eras and cultures. Her main focus is participatory sound design: the versatile ways we respond to and communicate through sound and music. She is an innovative producer and educator, whose varied projects reach beyond the conventions of her fields.
